Choosing the Right Function Band for Your Event

This may be the biggest indicator of which function band hire is right for you. No matter what event-type you’re having, the number of people present will likely determine the vibe for the band type. If you’re having a wedding with only 15 people (who’d have thought this would be the only type of wedding 2020 saw?) then perhaps a 15-piece soul/pop band may be too much. Or similarly an acoustic duo may not quite fit into a bar mitzvah for 300!Atmosphere
Events can differ hugely in atmosphere. For example a 60th wedding anniversary celebration for your parents is going to feel different to a friend’s 21st Birthday bash (then again perhaps not!). So it’s important to put atmosphere and function band hire hand in hand. Using those same two events, a suggestion would be some sort of string ensemble or more subtle type of band for the anniversary party. And perhaps an up-beat pop cover band would be great for the birthday party! Be sure to consider atmosphere, or at least intended atmosphere when booking your function band.Location
Location can definitely inform the atmosphere which will inform your function band hire choice, but sometimes the location may actually limit what type of band you can have! There may be some venues where amplification may not be allowed, in an older building for example. Or perhaps your location is so remote that getting power is out of the question. In cases like this an instrumental-style function band is likely to be perfect. Depending on the acoustics of your venue you’re likely to get a lovely sound and don’t need to worry about struggling to hear a vocalist. It’s probably a good idea to check what the limitations of your venue are in terms of music and live entertainment before booking! Your event will be wonderful no matter what type of function band hire you go for, and if you want to have an indie rock band at your Grandma’s birthday party then you go right ahead!
